hello everyone!  In honor of #WomensHistoryMonth or #WomensHerstoryMonth, I am sharing a slideshow of some women that I have researched this month. I welcome feedback as usual. I have another episode #6 with Tom & Johnny that I am editing to get ready to load onto Spotify & YouTube. Season #1, Episode #5: Hang Time With My Sons- Now Live on Spotify!

Image
Hello everyone! I spent quite a bit of time this week editing Episode #5: Hang Time With My Sons to get it ready to go live on Spotify. I have to still put it on YouTube- sometimes the loading process is frustrating and doesn't happen right away. I will try to get it on YouTube for those who don't want to go on Spotify. I have my two sons as special guests: Tom & Johnny. Johnny picked out some topics for us to discuss. I share some funny stories with them on the job back in the day. Tom brings his own things to discuss as well. I tried to water down some of their potty mouths via editing. However, I would be dishonest if I completely watered down the content. Johnny popped up with some wisdom, sometimes I sided with Tom because Jho has an immature viewpoint, and we all shared many laughs during this episode. I have another episode coming with the guys as special guests. I need to carve time to edit the content. I am hoping to have time next week to complete and get it

The Audio Blog Is Available On Different Podcast Platforms Via Anchor!

Image
Hello everyone! I am just learning about the different podcast platforms, that Anchor (by Spotify) works on your behalf, where my audio blog has been made available.  I have a goal to get both the audio blog and Verbally Disastrous podcast on the Apple podcast.  As of now, The Verbally Disastrous Podcast With Leslie & Melissa is only available on Spotify.  I definitely need to get the Verbally Disastrous podcast on multiple platforms.  I have to research how to do that.  The Verbally Disastrous Podcast & Construction Tales Audio Blog is available, via the Anchor platform, on a variety of different podcast platforms that include: Breaker, Google Podcasts, Pocket Casts, RadioPublic, and Spotify.  The additional different podcast options to get onto include: Apple Podcasts, Castbox, and Overcast. Here is the audio blog that is available on the Anchor platform:  https://anchor.fm/leslie-m-jasper Here is the audio blog that is available on the Breaker platform: https://www.breaker

I am working on editing and reviewing two new podcast episodes that should be released between today or tomorrow. For the next two podcast episodes, I put on both of my sons, they are Tom and Johnny, to discuss a variety of topics. These podcast episodes will be labeled as: Episodes #5 & #6. I was trying to keep the guys on topic and not wander off the path too long. I hope I didn't sound overbearing in the process. More importantly, I hope the episodes were entertaining. We will get together and do more podcast episodes very soon. For the next session with my sons, we will add Melissa into the mix. It would be awesome to get Melissa's son Jimmy into an episode along with Tom and Johnny! The #5th podc

The Audio Blog & Verbally Disastrous Podcast: Both Are on Spotify!

hello everyone! I want to make sure you all know that the blog is separate from the Verbally Disastrous podcast.  I had some people ask me about the blog and podcast and were previously assuming that the content was of the same.  There are two channels on Spotify.   Here is the #VerballyDisastrous podcast on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/embed-podcast/show/2dFYgX4dUiHaMfJ4gigLY0 Here is the WordPress blog where I discuss content for both my book #ConstructionTales and the #VerballyDisastrous podcast.  This blog is in audio form and also available on Spotify.  Depending on my schedule or the content, I may read it myself.  Otherwise, an electronic narrator reads it for you.  I just opted to use this feature.  Therefore, the bulk of my blog is in electronic narrator form.   Here is the audio blog that is on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/embed-podcast/show/3VB6SYjhyvbpmBJPK0mdc4 As always, thanks for stopping by and checking out my content.  You have many options throughout the

Celebrating More Women, In Different Trades, Smashing Barriers In Construction

Image
hello everyone! I have been trying to dig for early trailblazing women in construction within a wide variety of trades. I recently discussed with another trade sister as to what era produced the earliest women in the trades? We both were initially thinking that women from the 1970's were the pioneers. While some women started their careers in the 1970's, I was pleasantly surprised to see key women, such as Edith Clarke, that were straight smashing glass ceilings at GE & AT&T as early as the 1920's!! For the purpose of this blog post, I am trying to dig into different trades to sift for legacies of early women in construction. he first licensed master electrician, from Massachusetts, grew up on West Union Street back in the 1950’s. The first Massachusetts female master electrician story began when Deanna Dunlevy was just 16-years old. Ms. Dunlevy was hired by Clyde Meserve to initially just help out around the shop. Deanna soon found out that she had a talent f
